i have been enjoying this new band called ‘wild sweet orange’ and their song sour milk is pretty sweet. the lyrics are tough but honest.

wahoo its the wknd. this is the first weekend in over a month that i have not had friends, family and or bands at my house. its great having the housemates here and there is a lot of them these days. so i am looking forward to not doing anything.

i am really looking forward to vacation time in texas and colorado. i will be gone from nashville for the most i have ever been gone since moving here. so i am looking forward to time with my family. then i will be on the road with deas vail for a few shows as they head to nashville for their ep release show with jon foreman. it should be a great night.

the wedding have a #1 song on christian rock radio right now so that is pretty sweet. and the deas vail ep will blow people away very excited about that release in less than a month.

i cant believe it is august. dang. see ya.

this summer has been busy. but boy has it been fun. the weather in nashville these days has been wonderful. i spend my days in the office and my nights on the porch. love it… last week i was in sunny southern california. it was great. i stayed with my friend janelle in her condo in west hollywood. we had a great time and my time there moved quickly. had some meetings and also had a few shows. we went to warped tour, deathcab/rouge wave, and jon foreman. overall my time out there was great. the people i met with were really nice and offered lots of advice and help.

the drivers out there are pretty awful though. no wonder they have so much traffic all the time. i will say someone is doing something right in marketing out there and it is range rover. i saw more of that particular car than all other cars combined. it is kind of crazy.

tomorrow morning i will be on the road to cornerstone for a week. i am excited this is my third year at the fest with the label. its going to be great to see my bands and make some new relationships.

so all you have to have is good music and a good vision. at brave new world we have both. i have been blessed to set up some really good releases by just two artists.

the newest one is not any different. features and exclusives help. it is still about the music its a great product. we are beating out some very successful artists on the itunes rock charts right now. it is a great feeling. lots of hard work pays off. see below.

things i want.

right now i am really wanting these 3 things. i cant really afford any of them though. i am working on different ways to save money to get these items. i am considering sharing my room. but then that will put 7 people in my house. a bit much. it would be a fun year and i would save over $3k. or i am considering selling some ads on this blog to bring in some revenue. hmmm.

each of these items has its purpose and reason.

the car is self explanatory. my car sucks. its my own fault. my parents bought me this car and my dad warned me against it but at the time i thought it was such a good idea. it was not. (listen to your parents kids.) the 2nd day i had the clunker it had a flat tire. that was 2 years ago. well i am sick of it. there is pretty much nothing i like about the car. i am really starting to think that someone comes and steals my gas or it get 5 miles per gallon. the marshmallow now has a mind of its own like herbie the lovebug. it is probably unsafe i think its just funny as the rpm’s race while i sit at a red light. just watching it go from 1k to 3k and back. but i dont want to spend any money on the car. i just want to get rid of it and get something i enjoy.

right now the mini has the most perks in my mind:

40+ miles per gallon on the highway.
i build it myself (well i dont build it some people in germany build it. but i get to pick everything i want.)
i could visit my parents for $100 and enjoy the drive.
small so i am not stuck always driving everyone.
enjoy the driving.
i have never had a manual and it seems fun.
i will get a custom 10 speaker audio system with iPod dock. so my car wont be filled with CDs.
i dont want to buy new but i like the idea of free manience for 3 years.
free oil changes.
4 year warranty.

i also want a bike. with all this riding i am doing these days id like to get my own bike. i am looking into a few but after talking to my older brother who is somewhat of a professional biker. i think i will go with the one below.

this camera i have been wanting to get for a while. i have gone to the camera store 4 times now to buy it and keep changing my mind. i have the money in my account but i was raised to pench the penny. and can not justify the cost at this point. a camera like this would grow my creativity. i could take pictures of my bands. of nashville and maybe upload them on here.

today has been a long day. i got the wedding packaging in. i cant wait for the world to hear this ep. it was a good day a s-s-studios too. bedtime.

last night was by far the best of the summer as of yet. who knows tonight could top it. it started just like any friday night. all of us bumming on the couch talking bout different ideas. dinner? pizza? us marshals started and we were all glued to the tv. then we decided to break away and actually do something with our lives.

so we decided to go to grill out. so we headed to kroger to grab brauts, chips, and some drinks. we got back to the house invited some friends over. intern ben brought his wii over so we set up a bowling tourney on the front porch. there was 8 of us playing. and you guessed it i won. i won big too. 243 the first game and 190 to win the championship. ben did get in second. russ got 3rd and gabe rounded out the top with 4th.

then we proceed to find ever bike that we could. there was 9 of us that wanted to ride. we went and borrowed biked from kelsey and our neighbor. so jojo, gabe, russ, dustin, ben, ben, dd, eastern, and i went riding. on our way to visit amber working the night shift adam fell off his bike in to on coming traffic. our fun night almost ended. good thing the driver decided to yell some cuss words at adam instead of running him over. after the bandages for adam and hanging while amber ate. we rode on for another hour. it was great.

today we will recover and clean. and nap. see ya.

today was a good day. spent the day working and hanging at the studio with dv. their new stuff is going to blow minds. promise. it was a good day. the night got better as it arrived too. i laid around till about 11 then me and my roomie gabe decided to go bike riding.

it was one of the coolest things i have done in a long time. we rode to vandy to see amber and got to bug her. gabe asked how much she got paid it was halarious and out of line. then we rode around and took a break at jacksons. had some water and verde dip. not part of my diet. i know. but none the less good times. gabe and i talked for a long time and it was nice. then we rode around a bit more then headed home.

riding bikes. most americans learn to ride a bike when they are young. but then some how riding bikes gets uncool by the time you drive. but it was the greatest feeling being on a road that during the day is filled with traffic and congestion then at midnight there is nothing but cool breeze and city lights. great way to spend a summer night in nashville.

it is here. in all its glory. its hot but its beautiful. i spent most of the day at the studio. deas vail is recording a new ep and album all in one session. its a pretty cool idea that we have come up with. keep the fans interested in what we are doing with putting an ep out quickly then follow up with a strong album.

i moved rooms this week as well. josiah and eastern are sharing a room now and they needed the bigger room so i moved over a room. i painted it. its small but i enjoy our house so its okay.

this weekend should be fun. more to come.

i graduate on saturday. this will be my new blog site and plan on using it. more than 3 times a year. i am not sure what this new life without school will bring me but i am excited about it none the less.
